Give Light and Darkness Will Disappear

Darkness Cannot Illuminate Darkness
Martin Luther King, The Buddha, and many other wise sages throughout the ages deeply understood the timeless truth alluded to by this quote — fighting evil only sustains it. But one doesn't need to be a wise sage to see what is obvious — hate begets hate, war begets war, darkness begets darkness. So what is the way to a better world then? Many wise sages have offered timeless advice on this subject.
Martin Luther King Jr. said it well with "Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate can not drive hate: only love can do that". He deeply understood that only love, compassion, and forgiveness can create a better world. The Buddha made this same point when he said; "Hatred does not cease by hatred, but only by love. This is the eternal rule". Gandhi hit the nail on the head when he said; "You must be the change you wish to see in the world."
There is only one perpetrator of evil on the planet: human unconsciousness. That realization is true forgiveness. With forgiveness, your victim identity dissolves, and your true power emerges. Instead of blaming the darkness, you bring in the light. — Eckhart Tolle, A New Earth
Ultimately all these wise sages understood that the state of the world is just a reflection of our own state of being. What you put out is what returns to you. If you want peace, be peaceful. If you want love, be loving. If you want truth, be truthful ... you get the idea.
Love and light,
