The Power of Love

When Gandhi shared these poignant words with the world — The day the power of love overrules the love of power, the world will know peace — they were certainly more than just an intellectual observation. They undoubtedly reflected his great hope for Humanity.
A hope that might seem very far off. From even the most superficial look at human history It certainly seems like Ego and fear has been running rampant on our world for a very long time — in both subtle and not so subtle ways. Throughout our recorded history, there are those that have taken their lust for power-over-others and service-to-self to great heights. It would be so easy to blame them for the problems of the world.
Yet, most of us, at some time and to some degree, have allowed our ego and fear to be in the driver's seat and have not been as loving as we could have been — we've all been a part of it. Although many like to blame others there are very few who can genuinely claim to have been a saint.
Thankfully a great shift in human consciousness is underway which will ultimately lead to a great transformation of our world — a transformation to a much more peaceful, equitable, and just society — as Gandhi was surely hoping for. So even though it is not apparent to many, an age of love is dawning. A new age characterized by far less competition, greed, and conflict and much more cooperation, sharing, and harmony.
But of course, to transform our world each and every one of us most transform ourselves. After all the state of our world is just a reflection of our collective state of consciousness, our collective state of being. For a few tips on what that's going to take, check out my articles 6 Keys to Making the Shift and Nothing to Fear - Shifting from Fear to Love.
As Gandhi himself has pointed out, to usher in this new age, each and every one of us must “become the change we wish to see in the world.”
All my love,
