Did you know that many aspects of your beingness can be predicted from your birth date and name?  It's called Numerology, and it's a powerful tool to help you understand yourself and live up to your full potential.  Here's a quick tour of how and why it works and what you can learn about yourself.

Numerology is an ancient metaphysical science that can predict many aspects of your constitution and life path.  It uses the numbers of your birth date and the numerical values of the letters in your name as the keys to unlocking the blueprint of you and your life-plan.

Numerology was invented independently by a number of very ancient cultures and even though they shared the same philosophy and where similar they all worked a bit differently.   The Greek mathematician and philosopher Pythagoras studied these older systems and created a singular unified system.   The Pythagorean numerology system stands as the basis for most modern Numerological systems.

Numerology: An Owners Manual to You and Your Life

Numerology is a practical method of understanding your deeper nature:  your character and personality, your strengths and weaknesses,  your opportunities and challenges.  It describes the cycles and phases you will go through in your life, and it reveals your lessons to be learned.  It provides greater insight and understanding about yourself and your potential.  It's like having and map and a guidebook to your life and self!  It's a powerful self-help tool that is very worth exploring and taking advantage of.

Why the Heck Does it Work?

How is it possible that Numerology can predict these things about you and your life?  And predict it all from your name and birth date?

Well for starters, you have to understand that your existence is not happenstance, and neither is this life you are having.  You have a soul, and it choose to incarnate into a physical body (you) and have a physical experience (your life) for the growth and learning opportunities it provides.  In fact, your soul scripted your entire life so it could have specific learning experiences and growth opportunities.  And this isn't your only life, your soul incarnates numerous times in its quest to evolve to higher states of consciousness.

Not only did your soul design your life-script it also designed YOU.  The mixture of qualities and traits that make you unique where designed and created by your soul.  Again, with the objective of creating a particular kind of experience with a particular set of learning/growth opportunities.

The point here is that you and your life are BY DESIGN, and the structure of the design is reflected in the numbers of your name and birth date.

At this point, your rational mind is probably objecting to the idea that your name and birth date can represent your design or makeup.  Granted, from the limited perspective of the 3D rational mind your date of birth does seem pseudo-random.  After all your parents didn't necessarily plan the date of your conception and the term of a pregnancy can vary.  Same with your name, they could have picked any number of names, and just ended up picking yours out of the hat.

God does not play dice with the universe.   — Albert Einstein

The truth is that nothing is random, nothing happens by chance.  Especially your date of birth or your name.  Your soul projected aspects of itself as the physical body and mind that you call YOU.  It carefully planned and scripted a life that it wanted to experience. Your name and birth date ENCODE the pattern that is YOU.  The ancients understood this and figured out how to decode it and reveal your constitution and life-plan.  This is the predictive science of Numerology.

The Universe is Patterns and Numbers and So Are You

To fully understand how numbers can represent a person's inner qualities/traits/characteristics and their life path we have dive deep into the fundamental nature of the universe and things within it.  The Universe is a field of energy.  This energy can vary from point to point, and hence patterns emerge.  These patterns are all the 'things' of the Universe, both seen and unseen, large and small.  'Matter' and the 'particles' that they are composed of are simply patterns of energy that, to our senses, appear 'solid' and 'discrete'.  Of course, they really aren't.  Modern science knows that atoms are mostly 'empty space' but what they haven't fully appreciated is how NOT empty 'space' really is.  The atoms and the parts of the atoms and all material objects are sitting in and connected to a sea of energy, ebbing and flowing in myriad of patterns that we cannot 'see'.

Everything is patterns and patterns have parts that are in relation to each other, and these relations can be represented numerically.  All patterns, however complex, can be represented numerically.  You are a very complex energetic pattern — your body, your mind, and your consciousness — your body/mind/spirit complex — your whole beingness.

Larger more complex patterns can be built by combining a small set of smaller simpler patterns.  This is how the universe builds highly complex patterns — it uses a few simple building blocks and combines they in various ways.   You are a highly complex pattern built in this manner.

What Numerology is saying is the numbers in your birth date (I like to call this your inception date) and your name are a reflection of some of the numerical relations that DESCRIBE aspects of the complex pattern that we call YOU.

Your Core Numbers and What They Say About You

There are over 30 numbers derived from your name and birth date that describe the various aspects of you.  There are four or five of these that can be considered the most important and interesting. Lets dive in and explore these.

The Life Path Number is the single most important number of your Numerology and is derived from your birth date.   It describes the general direction your life will take and reveals your most prominent traits and hence general character.  The traits defined by the Life Path number strongly influence how you will respond to the opportunities and challenges faced during your life.

I'm going to show you an example of how to calculate the Life Path number and explain how the meaning of the number is determined a little further ahead but lets take a look at a few other core numbers first.

Your Heart's Desire number reveals your innermost yearning; the dreams closest to your heart.  It illuminates your underlying motivation behind many of your actions.  It dramatically influences the choices you make in life.  Its influence is everywhere in your life — your career, your environment, friendships, and lifestyle.  It is derived from the vowels of your name.

Your Expression Number reveals your natural strengths and weaknesses given to you at birth.  Often referred to as the Destiny Number, as it aims for your goal in life, this number is the foundation on which your Life Path can flourish.  Your expression number is derived from the letters in your full name.

Your Birth Day Number reveals a specific talent or ability that you possess.   It greatly contributes to propelling you along your life path.   It is the least significant, but the most well defined, of the four core numbers (Life Path, Expression, and Hearts Desire being the other three).

Your Personality Number reveals your outer personality traits, the first impression people get of you.  It is those aspects that you feel comfortable sharing with people at the outset of a relationship.  As people get to know you better they will get to know deeper aspects of your nature; the aspects of you as revealed by your Hearts Desire Number, Expression Number, etc.  Your Personality number is derived from the consonants in your birth name.

Your Karmic Lesson Numbers reveal areas of yourself that you desire to improve. Situations will present in your life that will provide opportunities for greater understanding and growth in these particular areas. You can have one or more lessons. Karmic Lesson numbers are derived from the letters of the alphabet that are missing from your birth name.

An Example Of Calculating Someone's Life Path Number

Let's go through this step by step using Albert Einstein's birthday as an example.

He was born March 14, 1879.

The first step is to convert the month of birth to a single digit number or master number using the numerological number reduction method.

If the month is not single digit and not a 'master number' (11 or 22) then add the digits together.  So October which is the 10th month reduces to 1 (1 + 0) and December which is the 12th month reduces to 3 (1 + 2).  Note that in the case of November it stays 11 rather than being reduced to 2 because 11 is a master number.

Albert Eistein's birth month is March which is the 3rd month of the year.  Since this is already a single digit no further calculation is needed — his month number is 3.

The next step is to reduce the day of birth to a single digit or master number using the reduction method described above.   If you were born on the 29th you would reduce to the master number 11 (2+9) and stop there.

Albert Eistein was born on the 14th.   Since this is a two digit number we would reduce it to a single digit number by adding 1+4.  So his day number is 5.

Next, add all the digits of the year of birth and reduce them to a single number.

Albert Eistein's birth year is 1879 so you would add 1+8+7+9 which gives you 25 and since this is not a single digit we'll add 2+5.  So his year number is 7.

Finally, add the final month number, day number and year number together.

For Einstein it would be: 3+5+7 = 15.  And since this is not a single digit number then we reduce the number down further: 1+5 = 6.  So Albert Einstein's Life Path number is a 6.

Reality is merely an illusion, albeit a very persistent one.   — Albert Einstein

What Does Albert Einstein's Life Path Number say about him? And Why?

So Albert Einstein's Life Path number is 6 and that says a lot about this aspect of him and his life that I will share with you shortly.  But first let's address an important question.  Why the heck would a single digit number mean anything about a person?  I'll explain.

The single digit numbers 1 through 9 represent sets of attributes, or traits, or characteristics.  The construct you call you, the very complex pattern of energy that is you is constructed from a very small and simple set of patterns — patterns that you can think of as the numbers 1 through 9.

Each and every person on this planet is constructed from different combinations and arrangements of these building blocks.  Through this combinatory process, one can produce a nearly infinite number of unique individuals. The ancients knew this and decoded the characteristics of the nine fundamental building blocks.  They also figured out how to interpret these characteristics when applying them to a particular aspect of your beingness — your Life Path for instance.

So without further ado here is the meaning of Albert Einstein's Life Path — number 6.

Albert Einstein possesses great compassion and seeks to be of service to others. He has concern for the weak and the downtrodden.  He a healer and a helper to others.  Albert is capable of giving comfort to those in need and will frequently offer a shoulder for others to cry on.

Einstein's task in life is to develop the tools necessary to be truly helpful to others, rather than to simply be a sympathetic ear.  Albert Einstein must find the balance between help and interference.  In the same way, he must learn the delicate art of the counselor who knows when to leave the struggle to others and when to avoid taking away the necessary experiences and lessons of life.

Albert Einstein is naturally balanced.  Therefore, he is well equipped to support and ground others in times of trial.  It is in his nature to take on responsibility — often filling the void left by others — and to not turn away from personal sacrifice.  At times, Albert Einstein may feel overburdened by the pains of others.  However, the love others bestow upon him is his well deserved reward.

Albert tries to maintain harmony within the family or group, balancing and fusing divergent forces.  He seeks marriage and is often a wonderful parent, offering warmth, protection, and understanding to children.

He is generous, kind, and attractive.  Einstein is often admired even adored which baffles him.  He is humble and yet he carries a deep pride.  Albert Einstein moves well and gracefully, but will have to work to stay in shape.  He must seek out physical exercise and limit the sweets and dairy he craves to keep himself from becoming plump and round.

When young, Albert must be careful not to choose partners for the wrong reasons, and to not let sentimentality influence his decision, especially those involving the choice of a spouse.  Einstein needs to be needed, but must learn to discriminate between those he can help and others who are made weaker by his care.  After all, it is in Albert's nature to be attracted to the weaker brothers and sisters among us.

The temptation and the danger for Albert Einstein is to think of himself as the savior of the world, carrying the burdens of others on his shoulders.

Albert Einstein is blessed with musical talent, as well as in the visual and performing arts.  However, his creativity may well be suppressed due to his willingness to sacrifice, or his inability to fully appreciate his own talents.  This is not to say that Albert cannot excel in these areas; on the contrary, he has the talent, and with effort he can make a success in a number of artistic fields.

Einstein also has enormous talent in business.  He is blessed with a great deal of charm and charisma, which Albert Einstein uses effectively to attract the people and support he needs.
